100 steps, from skin to light

Each shoe takes shape through over one hundred manual steps, starting with cutting the leather and continuing with stitching, assembly, and finishing. The final step, hand polishing, restores depth and character to every nuance, making each shoe unique, just like the hands that crafted it.

Leather, Cutting, Decorations and Shaping

It all starts with choice and the first hand dyeing of leather.

From those sheets the components are cut by hand with millimetric precision and decorated with punchings that tell the style of the model and the upper is born.

Meanwhile, yes shape the inner sole, the base on which the upper is assembled and sewn for the first time.

This is where the shoe begins to take shape, blending matter and gesture in a perfect balance between technique and tradition.

La the upper is fitted onto the last and fixed to the inner sole with small steel nails, in a process called lasting.

This is where the shoe begins to take its silhouette.

The first stitching, the smoothing of the joint and the gluing of the sole follow, preparing it for the final stitching that will forever unite its parts.

The Blake Rapid Seam

In Neapolitan tradition we call it “a blake”: a stitching that passes through the upper, insole and sole in a single step.

Born in the nineteenth century, the Blake Rapid sewing adds a second layer for strength, while maintaining flexibility and a slim profile.

The result is a lightweight, comfortable and long-lasting shoe, designed to accompany the step with artisan precision.

Perfect for the city, resistant over time and on formal occasions.

Modeling and Painting

With heat and a small iron, the upper is shaped to a rigid shoe last, precisely following the profile of the foot.

Then it starts the second hand painting: the color is spread with the sponge, left to dry and brush finished in places where the sponge cannot reach. It is a work of patience that prepares the leather for final polishing.

Preparation, Brushing, Polishing and Packaging

After assembly, it is set up with laces and other small details that complete it.

Follows the brushing under the rollers which evens out the surface and revives the colour, preparing the leather for manual polishing.

With circular, intense and precise movements, the craftsman spreads the waxes and brings them to a mirror, bringing out unique depth and reflections.

Finally, each pair is carefully checked and placed in the box, ready to tell, step by step, the story of over one hundred gestures that make up the Made in Italy and more precisely Neapolitan footwear art.
